Interstates

  • Shelby County is part of the I-75 corridor with access to the interstate from seven different interchanges. Four of these interchanges occur throughout the Sidney City Limits. Along with easy access to I-75, I-70 is only 30 minutes south of Sidney. These interstates provide major access to many different markets within a days’ drive.

  • Many state routes also service the Sidney, Shelby County area, providing easy access for the rural communities to Sidney’s amenities and beyond.

Airports

  • Sidney is equipped with a modern municipal airport, featuring a dual-runway system and a 5,013 ft. runway. This new runway allows any flight less than 60,000 lbs. to enter or exit the area with very little travel to the airport. The Sidney Municipal Airport is great for small operations, but can accommodate larger enterprises, and has plenty of space for customizable growth.

  • For major air travel and international shipment Dayton International Airport is less than 35 miles from Sidney. Dayton International provides three different runways, with the longest being 10,901 ft. Dayton International Airport is host to 5 airlines serving 14 non-stop destinations, and its’ location at the "Crossroads of America" (Interstates 70 and 75) makes it "Easy to and Through."

Railroads

  • Railroad access is one of the true and hidden strengths of Shelby County. Sidney sits on a North/South and East/West crossroads of the CSX railroad, which also services many of the villages. Eastern Shelby County is also serviced by the Indiana-Ohio Railroad (IORY), which serves the metropolitan areas of Cincinnati, Columbus, Springfield and Lima. Both CSX and IORY allow for quick and easy rail travel to much of the United States without the high costs of accessing these lines.

Trucking Companies

  • There are more than 40 motor freight and trucking companies in Shelby County. We are also within a day's drive of most major Eastern and Midwestern cities, providing the advantage of fast deliveries and lower freight costs to major markets.
